10C Shared Space

10C Shared Space, recently raised over $2,250,000(CDN) in social financing through its community bonds product and successfully purchased and redeveloped its community-based social innovation hub. Leveraging this learning, it is now focused on developing and implementing similar products/platforms to support growing a circular food economy.

Harvest Impact is one such social financing project that it is offering as an implementation team.

The project falls within a broader Smart Cities Circular Food Economy collaboration involving multiple partners – municipal, academic, public health, business and not-for-profit. It involves creating and supporting a business ecosystem to build tangible examples of circular food businesses.

OUR FOOD FUTURE

Our Food Future rests on the dissemination and implantation of key ideas such as Circular Food Economy and Circular Food Solutions.

Circular Food Economy

Inspired by the planet’s natural cycles, a circular food economy reorganizes and regenerates the systems that feed us, eliminating waste, sharing economic prosperity, and nourishing our communities.

Circular Food Solutions

Individuals, businesses or nonprofit organizations coming together to contribute to the circular food economy through the development of new business models, technologies, products or services that design waste out of our food system, reduce emissions, expand access to affordable and nutritious food, and regenerate natural systems.

iHub Overview for 10C as Front Door

These Main Doors will help the iHub ensure that a commitment to people, planet, prosperity, and purpose are present in organizations and individuals selected to participate in iHub programming, from problem identification and solution generation through the development of prototypes, new businesses, and CFE collaborations.

Socially Financing Our Future

A Smart Cities Circular Food Economy Project

Inspired by the planet’s natural cycles, a circular food economy reorganizes and regenerates the systems that feed us, eliminating waste, replenishing our ecological systems, sharing economic prosperity, and nourishing our communities. In Guelph-Wellington, we are working to build a circular food economy that will achieve a 50% increase in access to affordable nutritious food, 50 new circular economy businesses and collaborations and a 50% increase in circular economic revenue by recognizing the value of waste.
