Harvest Impact Engages its First Official Investor

Harvest Impact Fund I was selected by the Waterloo Region Community Foundation (WRCF) as one of four funds to receive investment through their inaugural Impact Fund Forum — a rigorous process that started with 32 Canadian impact funds, narrowed to a shortlist of 12, and ended with four.

Being there was something special. Watching other mission-aligned funds pitch, hearing how they talk about their work, and connecting with people who are asking the same questions and chasing the same kinds of change — that kind of energy is rare. It was a reminder of how much we can learn from each other when like-minded people are in the same room.

WRCF is Harvest Impact’s first official investor in Harvest Impact Fund I, and we couldn’t be more excited. As we continue building toward our $10M fund, this is exactly the validation and momentum we needed to keep going — getting us closer to the food, farm, and environment entrepreneurs we exist to serve. The ones growing our food, closing the loop on waste, and building a more circular economy, often without access to the capital they need to do it.
